After last year's Makoto Shinkai movie Kimi no Na wa got into the list of Oscar nominees, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale who entered into the list of nominees for Oscar nomination 2018
Anime film adapted from the Sword Art Online series titled Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale is no doubt its popularity. The anime film adapted from the popular super light Sword Art Online novel series was immediately watched by anime fans when it was released in Indonesia on March 22, 2-17 and in America on March 9, 2017.

The film, which earned US $ 1.35 million (about Rp19 billion), is reportedly the nominee of Academy Awards aka Oscar for Best Animation Film of 2018.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as the Oscar organizers has announced 26 titles of films that have been registered to nominate the Oscar nomination in 2018. Among the list there are five Japanese anime films that succeeded in including In This Corner of the World (Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni), Mary and the Witch's Flower (Mary to Majo no Hana), Napping Princess (Hirune-hime: Shiranai watashi no monogatari), A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi), and Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale.

Some movies have not completed a viewing qualification in Los Angeles. This is important because it determines two to five films that will be nominated for the final of the Oscars.

Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale and four other films have a chance to pass to the next stage because Disney who always dominate the nominations list only proposed Cars 3 as a nomination candidate.

The toughest rival of the nomination is certainly on Despicable Me 3, The Lego Batman Movie, and The Lego Ninjago Movie who managed to reap tremendous profits around the world.
Not only profit in America Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale also reap profits in Japan with a profit of 425 million yen (equivalent to Rp44, 5 billion) in just a matter of days.
