The news about Morbius the Living Vampire spin-off has just been announced by The Hollywood Reporter. They reported that two Power Rangers filmwriters Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama would be the scriptwriters of the Morbius the Living Vampire spinoff, secretly being developed by Sony Pictures. But there has been no further news about the director or cast who will be involved in this spin-off film. Surely the film Morbius the Living Vampire will not have a connection with the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming played by Tom Holland in MCU.
Morbius the Living Vampire character first appeared in the comic of Amazing Spider-Man # 101 in 1971. The character was created by two comic artists named Roy Thomas and Gil Kane and reportedly no interference from Stan Lee. In the story of the original character Michael Morbius is a biochemist who won the Nobel Prize who accidentally turned himself into a vampire when he experimented to cure the disease in his body. Morbius the Living Vampire has a similarity with other types of vampire, he was afraid of the sunlight and needed blood to survive.
As Geeks know that Sony Pictures is still being submitted by their two Spin-off films currently in production, including Venom (2018) and Silver & Black (2019). So the geeks who have been curious about the story of Morbius the Living Vampire, you must be patient because the film is expected to air by the end of 2019.
