Ethiopian Airlines Receives 1st Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

Ethiopian Airlines received its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on October 27, 2017. It is the first company in Africa to receive and operate this aircraft. The B787-9 is the second member of the 787 family.
As a reminder Ethiopian was one of the first companies to receive and operate the 787-8 in August 2012.
Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde GebreMariam said: "Continuing our pioneering legacy of aviation technology in Africa, we are proud to celebrate another premiere with the introduction of the 787-9, a state-of-the-art aircraft that joins our growing young fleet today, the 787 is a mainstay of our fleet with 20 aircraft in service. "
The fleet of Ethiopian Airlines has 93 apparails, including 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliner, all deployed on its long-haul routes.
